That Place Cafe
The journey of That Place began in 2020 as a small café serving coffee to their local neighbourhood in Mascot.
Many may remember they used to be called Bourke & Hare. They took over the original B&H in September 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many restauranteurs at this time had given up on their projects, but they saw this as an opportunity to bring their vision to life.
When That Place Cafe first started, it was quiet. There were days where they only had a table or two. But this didn’t deter them from pushing themselves to do better. They knew that if they produced great food, brewed fresh coffees and gave excellent customer service, they will eventually become That Place. And they did.
“We didn’t do this alone; we have a great team of staff who are all customers focused. We emphasise on the importance of customer service, and would refuse to compromise on the quality of our products. All together as a family, we created this amazing dining place for the neighbourhood.”
“Since September 2020, we got to know many of you on a personal level and created many friendships. We have hosted many, many birthday parties for the children in the hood and celebrated many special milestones with you.”
The name and concept of ‘That Place’ came from George to bring alive their vision for their café restaurant to be ‘That Place’ where you catch up with your family and friends for a freshly brewed cup of coffee, ‘That Place’ for the first date of a couple, ‘That Place’ to celebrate life’s milestones and ‘That Place’ where you will create memories filled with love, joy and peace.
